Active and passive insufficiency. edit

This article is linked from Rectus femoris muscle with links for Active and Passive insufficiency, but these concepts are not listed on this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Biotech9 (talkcontribs) 08:55, 9 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I propose a merge between these articles and this page:--LT910001 (talk) 15:02, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

This is for the following reasons:

  • Articles on muscle terminology are often very poor, and are unlikely to be expanded, as they are merely dictionary entries
  • The overall quality of the information would be improved by having it in one place; this would also enhance readability.
  • These articles would benefit from either being standardised or, as with our terms of motion articles, collated into a larger page that not only provides context, but allows a central place for all that editing to occur.
  • This has been done before with great success at Anatomical terms of motion
  • Support - for this merge and the following merges. Would be a definite improvement. Iztwoz (talk) 11:39, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Muscle types edit

I feel for completeness we should add a section on muscle types (striated/skeletal/sphincter) here. Ping to CFCF, do you know of any open-source resources we could use, such as for the long/short bone section in Anatomical terms of bone? --LT910001 (talk) 03:58, 9 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Well there is this image:

Will see what accompanying text there is to it once I get on my main computer. CFCF (talk · contribs · email) 08:38, 9 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
