Questioning NPOV of Conservation status and threats edit

I just added a photo of this species. The photo is of an individual caught in Greenland by a local as bi-catch while fishing for Greenland halibut. The individual was later eaten by me among others with great delight some months ago. These types of fish seems to quite common at the West coast of Greenland as bi-catch when fishing Greenland halibut and they are sold as consumer fish in supermarkets. I was therefore very surprised by the repeated statements about the conservation status of the species. It is repeated several times in uppercase letters that the COSEWIC status of the species is THREATENED. However on close inspection, it appears that all the statements only relate to Canadian affairs. I checked the Wikipedia guidelines concerning conservation status, and this guideline refers to the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) Red List and their online database. If I search for Anarhichas minor I get no hits. As I understand, this means it is not evaluated (NE). I do not know what can be concluded from this, but at least it does not substantiate the THREATENED statements. It is also stated here that it is not in the IUCN red list. This document in Danish from Grønlands Naturinstitut, biologists recommended to stop commercial fishing for spotted wolffish in 2004 and 2005 although the abundance of the species had increased in 2002 and 2003. All this conservation stuff is a new area to me, but I do think that the NPOV of these sections in the article can be improved. Comments? -- Slaunger (talk) 21:35, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Response edit

I added in higher some details about the distribution of this species, and included a line that it is not categorized by the IUCN. If someone knows of other international conservation efforts, ie Danish (as mentioned above), please include. I only know of Canadian details. Tube worms edit

In "Diet" in the accompanying article, i am ignorant of whether tube worms within a single taxon are relevant, or the general article Tube worm (body plan) should be linked, and i left the Dab un-byp'd.
