Factual error in article

This November 1940 article in The New York Times states the name change occurred in January 1940. It's account doesn't seem to sqare with the account given in this article (see [1]).4meter4 (talk) 20:22, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and updated the article with The New York Times piece, which gives a detailed account of the ATW's founding in January of 1940 with the names of the women who attended the very first meeting. It's pretty clear sources saying the organization didn't adopt the name the American Theatre Wing until 1941 are wrong because of this New York Times piece using that name being published the year prior. Likewise, the article is specific that the organization first meeting was held in January 1940; not 1939. I am sure that organizing the first meeting, contacting people to come, etc. probably happened in 1939 to lead up to the first meeting, but it's clear the ATW officially began in January 1940. 4meter4 (talk) 17:50, 6 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
