I suggest the line "It was the first nationally based secular peace organization in the United States history." be deleted. Evidence for this statement is not cited and it stands in contrast to the early history of the society as awarding Abiel Livermore $500 to write "War with Mexico Reviewed" in order to review how the war based "on the principles of Christianity" (pg. 2)
