Unsourced deleted

Marilyn Manson was originally drafted for and even composed much of the score, but he eventually dropped from the position, and with him went his contributions to the game's music, although he has said that they may finally be put to use for his own interpretation of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: PHANTASMAGORIA: The Visions Of Lewis Carroll.

Where is the source for this information?

As there has been no reply, I am removing the blurb cited above. There is no source given for that information and I have been unable to verify or find any mention of it. Additionally, the wording was misleading.

Editing

"Although the graphics aren't spectacular by today's standards (the game was released in 2000, and was very elaborate for the year of its make), many of the levels are very clever and creative in design."

I thought this sentence was a little to bias with the spectacular in it so I changed it around.

Movie adaptation, edit history

This is to help document the long and complex edit history of this section, which has become obscured through past content spinoffs, deletions, and redirects. This section originally was part of this article from 2005-01-06 [2] until 2006-04-22 [3]. Note that the earliest revisions used the section name "Dark Wonderland" as that was the rumored title of the film project at that time. After reaching that point the entire section, except for a one-sentence forwarding stub, was spun off into it's own article. The movie-article, after several renamings, eventually settled to become Alice (2007 film). In March 2007 the movie article underwent many substantial edits and cuts to remove all unsourced, unverifiable, or trivia/non-noteworthy information. Later, as no independent news about the projected film had surfaced for a long time, the movie article was nominated for deletion, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alice (2007 film). The voting results were a mix between delete and merge back into this article. Finally on 2007-03-22 [4] the remaining substance of the spun-off article was once again merged back into this article where it had originally started, and the movie-article was deleted and changed to a redirect here. So there was almost a year of edit history for the content which is not recorded on this article. -- Dmeranda 18:28, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Info Blanking

The Character Histories section really is too long. Wikipedia isn't an indiscriminate compendium of information. Sure that information might be useful to some, but it's hardly encyclopaedic is it? Ong elvin 12:51, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm going to severely shorten the Character Histories page. WP:NOT#INFO, WP:NOT#GUIDE, and WP:CVG/GL#Scope_of_information pretty much sum up my rationale. Combined the Weapons and Powerups sections and renamed them as Gameplay. Removed all information on how to use them as that is not within the scope of Wikipedia. Also removed all information on where to find them' for the same reason. Ong elvin 04:51, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Also want to note that I removed the descriptions for Sanity, Will and Meta-Essence, since they're nothing special as powerups. (Health/Mana restoration items are standard fare in this genre.) Ong elvin 04:53, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I agree it was too long, but I think some things were deleted without being properly thought through. For instance, I hardly think Alice, the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar and the Queen are the only main characters, e.g. the White Rabbit, Hatter, Gryphon and Jabberwock play substantial parts in the game. Shouldn't there at least be information on each of the game's bosses and main helpers? InsidiousTweevle 15:05, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Three of those four I think are the most important to it all. Alice, Cheshire Cat, and Queen are obvious enough. The White Rabbit you barely see him, just chase him. The Hatter has one series of levels devoted to him, the Gryphon is just transport, and the Jabberwock only appears once as a boss, really. Info on a game's bosses is a universal no-no for an encyclopaedia, unless they're absolutely important; like, big boss important. The only boss I consider in that category is, of course, the Queen of Hearts. And for that matter, I'm hesitant to even include the Caterpillar to begin with. Characters

The Queen is a metaphor for Alice's wrath, but she's not the only one in the game who is symbolic of something. The Mad Hatter, Dum and Dee, and many others are symbolic of people from Alice's real life, and others are symbolic of her feelings. I thought this might be interesting to point out to people. More info, please?

I'm a little disappointed about the lack of info on the game. I looked this page up about two years ago and it had weapons, storyline, etc. Can anyone add more information about the aforementioned, as well as the narrative of the game? for example, do the White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat really die? How does Alice defeat the Queen? Where can the blunderbuss be found - is there only one in the game? Things like that to flesh it out. I'm Not Edible.

The music box part of this song from the Fisher-Price Teaching Clock was used in a 1960s short film about fire provention called "Another Man's Family."

Like Alice, it had a little girl, & that little girl had that very music box. Her house burned down & her family died. The game also uses clocks as a theme. Hardly seems coincidental.

Move movie references

DRM

Care to add that the game has DRM which checks to see that a CD-ROM is in the primary computer CDROM drive which can cause the game to be unplayable due to a fault with this check which results in the error message "Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select ok and restart the application" being displayed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.202.52.99 (talk) 14:09, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

What angered American McGee first?

In the section "Development", we read "... which caused Rogue Entertainment to shut down, another decision which angered American McGee". But, I cannot find any preceding mention of other things that angered American McGee.
