Talk:Amadu's Jihad

I'm unpersuaded by the description of Amadu's jihad as "the Tukulor war." Tukulor derives from "Takrur," a people of Senegal, and is more commonly associated with people of that region; its use here is particularly confusing as Amadu's empire was later destroyed by a bonafide Tukulor empire, led by Umar Tall. Since a google search for Tukulor war turns up very few results (aside from our mirror sites), and other relevant articles on Seku Amadu don't use the term (see the biblio on the Seku Amadu article), I'm moving this to Amadu's jihad for now and fixing related links, though of course I'd be happy to see it moved back if anyone can find any relevant sources. --Dvyost 17:15, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

You're right. This had nothing to do with the Tukulor who did not enter the region until almost a half century later. The title might need another change, but at least it is not incorrect. --A12n 23:10, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
