Alu meets the following criteria for musicians and and composer/lyricists:

  1. It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable. Alu has been featured in the following national publications:
Her music has also been reviewed in Hustler Magazine, Music Connection and The Aquarian. These magazine articles can be scanned and uploaded online if you would like to review them.
  2. Has released music on one of the more important indie labels:. A remix of Alu's song "Recluse" is featured on the soundtrack to Clive Barker's "The Midnight Meat Train". The soundtrack was released by Lakeshore Records in July of 2008. Lakeshore Records is the independent music division of Lakeshore Entertainment, and they are known for releasing many award winning soundtracks including "Napoleon Dynamite", "Little Miss Sunshine", "Mr and Mrs Smith", "Underworld", "Resident Evil" and many, many more.
Alu also has digital distribution through iTunes:
  3. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable: (Same soundtrack/film as listed above)
  4. Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network. Alu's music has been featured extensively on Echoes Radio/NPR, which broadcasts out to hundreds of radio stations throughout the country. Here is a list of stations that Echoes broadcasts out to and some info on Echoes Radio.
Alu's song "Circus Cosmos" was Echoes Radio Producer/host John Diliberto's #1 Song of 2008 and her sophomore CD "Lobotomy Sessions" made his Top Ten List of 2008 for Best Album. "Lobotomy Sessions" was also one of Echoes 25 Essential Albums of 2008 (Staff Picks and Listeners' Poll).
Echoes also produced an interview with Alu, which was featured several times on NPR:
  5. Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network. Alu performed a half hour long Living Room Concert for NPR/Echoes Radio in the fall of 2008. Please check the playlist below for proof. (There is no audio link currently available)

Please note that the purpose of the references/links we have provided are listed in order to prove that the information in our article is verifiable. We are not trying to go out of our way to promote the artist. Please let us know which links are inappropriate and we will gladly remove them.

As for the reviewer who suggested that we use Alu's real name: Alu is the only name this artist goes by.
