"AIM" vs "Alternative Investment Market"

AIM isn't called the Alternative Investment Market anymore. They have changed the name to just AIM. If you call AIM the Alternative Investment Market you are technically incorrect. I don't want to change the article because I can't be asked to find an article to back me up but if anyone has the time they should have a quick look.87.85.76.179 (talk) 10:13, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Redwall

I agree with you. It's not called Alternative Investment Market. Can anyone (because I don't know how) change the article's name to AIM( London Stock Exchange)? Thank youKagiaras (talk) 12:27, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
I imagine the problem is that "AIM" is a heavily-overloaded term in this general encyclopedia, with no obvious primary meaning. The term "IBM" has a similar problem, but since the technology company was globally know by its acronym for over half a century, and no other common uses are remotely as widely known, it gets the simplified title. The standard practice in this situation is to add a disambiguating phrase to the title, like AIM (stock exchange). Perhaps no editors have yet found this preferable to the widely-recognized former name. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 16:58, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
