May we publish on the English WP some future events that haven't happened yet? edit

When a lot of work has been done for a cultural event which is already programmed, is-it possible to announce it on WP? Yes, if it is an official event, such as a programmed opera, a programmed dance exhibition, or an event included in a TV broadcasting. For instance, by searching in the EN WP, I have found several announcements of events programmed in 2015 or 2017:

  • in the Sarasota Opera page written in December 2014, we can read details concerning the 'Verdi cycle': The only operas which remain to be presented are Don Carlos, in the original, 5-act, Paris version in French, which is planned for 2015, while La battaglia di Legnano and Aida are planned for 2016 to complete the Verdi Cycle, a feat which distinguishes Sarasota Opera as the only company in the world to have performed every note which the composer wrote.
  • in the Love (TV series) page written in April 2015, we can read " Love is an upcoming American comedy television series set to premiere in 2016. The show is created by Judd Apatow and Lesley Arfin and stars Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust."
  • In the The Phantom of the Opera (1986 musical) page written in April 2015, we can find out in the 'other productions' that " In season 2014/2015 there will be 24 performances in total, of which 8 will be in capital Tallinn at Nordea Concert Hall (premiered there on 30 October 2014). In season 2015/2016 there are plans to give 16 performances."
  • In the List of programs broadcast by Syfy written in April 2015, we can read a list of premieres forecasted in the Upcoming programs such as "Hunters (premieres 2016)" or Killjoys (Premieres June 19, 2015) and Dark Matter (Premieres June 12, 2015).

So, it is not fair to consider that informing about the work for programmed alternative events would be an advertisement in the EN WP, while considering future official events as allowed to be advertised in WP! Considering this practice used in the EN WP for cultural events, I consider thus that I am allowed to publish on the EN WP future programmed events since they are gathering a lot of work even if they are not yet existing right now. --- Alter005 [ --> talk] 11:05, 3 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

If other poor, unsourced announcements exist on Wikipedia, it is not a reason to add more. Hence the reason the "advert" template was added to this article. I've removed the long unsourced list again, please don't add it back unless you can prove these events have been widely discussed in reliable news sources.
Your user name and your editing history suggests you are only here to promote Alternatiba. Maybe you have a conflict of interest and need to slow down a little bit, to avboid attracting more unwanted attention to this article. Sionk (talk) 19:52, 3 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry Sionk for having provoked your anger. Since you haven't reply to my messages both on your own talk-page and on this talk-page, I believed that you were convinced by my arguments. Sorry for that error!.
I guess that you are at least a little angry because you have suggested personal allegation for explaining my behaviour. But I am sorry to inform you that it is quite false. I began to contribute to the French Wikipedia in 2007, March. I am a French researcher. As I wrote some scientific articles on the topic of alternative economics in 2005, I made the choice of the user name 'Alter005'. But it was in 2007, thus far before the first Alternatiba, which occurred for its failed first attempt, in 2010, November, in Bayonne, without me. I did discover the Alternatiba event only in 2013, October. But, after the development of more than 60 Alternatiba events over different European countries, I had waited until 2014, November, the 24th, for creating the first Alternatiba, Village of Alternatives page on the French WP, and after that, in December the 2nd on the Spanish WP.
I would like to propose also on the EN WP some future Alternatiba events supported by press references, the ones that are present in French and Spanish versions of Alternatiba, Village of Alternatives. But I had no time to do so yesterday evening! I interrupted my edition for taking my dinner, but when I wanted to come back for adding these references to my former editions, I was surprised to discover that my edition was deleted. I feeled very unfair to have to do much more edition work for the Alternatiba events than for the other numerous cases of cultural events published on the ENG WP.
I tried with 3 messages on the Sionk talk page to solve this problem. But it was not successful and Sionk is still staying on it discrimination practice. In conclusion, I would be glad to be informed about existing ways of solving that problem. Doesn'it look like a conflict of edition?--- Alter005 [ --> talk] 21:55, 3 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
It is not discrimination. I would do the same with any article. Wikipedia is not a listings site and simply not a place to announce future events unless they have been widely anticipated by independent news sources. Press releases aren't independent, so they wouldn't be suitable sources.
There seems to be quite a bit of news coverage about Alternatiba's past events, so why not spend some time using those to describe Alternatiba's past achievements? Sionk (talk) 17:07, 4 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
