At present I am beginning work on markup and formatting for this article. I hope to be finished by 16 September 2006 9:00 PM. If anyone would like to help please post here. I am relatively new to the process, so any specific advice would be helpful.-BMW, Minor Copy-Edit 03:17, 17 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
- I actually read this after I wikified this page; sorry about that. Tom Stringham 03:34, 17 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
- It may be wikified, but it still remains in an essay format. Perhaps it would be better to merge some of the information here into the Altars article, rather than completely reformatting (difficultly) this essay. There is very little encyclopedic information here on early Mesoamerican altars; most of the information is comparing the value of early Mesoamerican altar use to that of the christian majority of today. The author notes twice the "irony" and strangeness of Mesoamerican altars transitioning "from being a symbol of paganism, to a worldwide symbol of Christianity", while altars have been in use by Catholicism since early Christianity. In my opinion, factual information from this article directly related to altars and altar use in Latin America should be salvaged, and the reflective nature of the essay should be tossed. Encyclopedic information can then either: be merged with the article Altars, or the Altars of Latin America could become a stub, added to at a later point.-BMW, Minor Copy-Edit 04:03, 17 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
- I have added the "story" tag to bring attention to the essay type structure of this article.
- Good point, I agree completely. I simply didn't have the patience to attempt a rewrite of this article last night. Tom Stringham 23:41, 17 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
