Unlabelled comment, 2006
editThe Altai are currently actually a minority in the Republic Altai and the 20% figure of 1950 was mainly due to the Russian influx. Also it is called a 'North Russian' republic, while it is in the south. Could somebody correct this errors? (my English is not so good, that's why) --Hardscarf 14:36, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Spelling mistake
editThere is a spelling mistake on the top of the text. --> oryots instead of oyrots
move to Altai people
editWe already have Altai Republic, so using Altai people seems somewhat logical. The Republic itself seems to us this designation on its website (you may also try google cache). "Altay people" and "Altai people" seem about equally popular on google, but "Altaians" [1] seems to be much more popular than "Altayans" [2].
Encoclopaedia Britannica uses "Altaic peoples" [7] (google cache).

- "Altaic peoples" is a different thing, usage of -ic is regular in those terms.--Imz (talk) 10:58, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps, you are right. As the links in Altai language show, SIL, Ethnologue also use the "Altai" spelling: [8], [9].--Imz (talk) 11:01, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Please create a redirect to this article from Telengid. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 23:11, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
- I have now done this, based on a source I found referring to Telengid Province. It's all a bit confusing though! Laterthanyouthink (talk) 06:14, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
