Picture does not show Sorex alpinus edit

The pelt of S. alpinus is entirely dark grey. Sideways light reflexions result in a whitish or silvery sheen. The snout is pinkish contrasting distincly with the surrounding grey. The shrew in the photo however has a dark snout, a brown pelt and the bright chin probably indicates a whitish underside colouration. If the contrast between the darker back and the lighter brown flanks is not only caused by the lighting, the photo probably shows Sorex araneus or any of several very similar species. For now there is no picture of S. alpinus avaiable in the Wikimedia Commons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.156.181.150 (talk) 16:01, 10 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
