Ne Pas De Grève
editFrapper = to hit.
Ne frappons pas = Let us not hit.
Ne nous frappons pas = Let us not hit us.
Or: Let's not hit ourselves.
PS: To strike = faire la grève.

Allais on a "naked" woman
editI don't think this fits in the article in it's current state, but I just came across a great, mischievous quote from Allais (about whom I know nothing) in Zizek's book The Sublime Object of Ideology (though Zizek himself is quoting Jacques Lacan quoting Allais—see here for the quote of the quote, presumably translated, in Zizek's book). Allais' joke, apparently well known at some point, involves someone pointing at a woman and calling out in horror "Look at her, what a shame, under her clothes, she is totally naked." I'm guessing that does a decent job capturing Allais' wit, and perhaps it's worthy of inclusion in an expanded article (I think it's fine to cite it to Zizek if that ever happens, unless of course we can cite the original). --Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 08:28, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
