Talk:Alpha Comae Berenices

I just made a correction to the claim that this system was an eclipsing binary -- that fact is not known, as even the possibility of it being eclipsing was not recognized until the late 1980s and the one periastron passage since at which an eclipse might have been observed, in 1990, was to the best of my knowledge not followed by quantitative observers. The opposite orientation periastron passage occurred in early 1999 and was also apparently not observed. The repeat of the 1990 arrangement will occur in late 2116 and perhaps will be followed by observers. Don Barry, Cornell Astronomy.

Additional note: the epoch/equinox of the coordinates is not specified. This is a frequently occurring error in these pages. Someone should correct them. Don Barry, Cornell Astronomy.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.236.6.98 (talkcontribs) 20:29, 14 November 2007
