Allens law firm

edit

I undeleted the article - this law firm is definitely notable: see for example Big 6 law firms -- enochlau (talk) 05:15, 6 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

This article was on the articles needing to be wikified category (not by me) so I've wikified it and generally cleaned it up. Tellyaddict 16:07, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Allens (law firm)Allens – On 1 May 2012 the firm changed its name from "Allens Arthur Robinson" to simply "Allens". This name had already been taken on Wikipedia so I've temporarily changed it to Allens (law firm) but ideally it should just be Allens. Davidbradbury (talk) 23:37, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Would 'Allens LLP' not be neater? Has the legal name of the firm also changed?Rangoon11 (talk) 00:00, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
LLP isn't included for any of the List of 100 largest law firms as far as I can see. Allens (law firm) and Allens (confectionary) are standardised. Just my opinion. Harro5 00:37, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ashurst is at LLP. However the addition of 'plc', 'limited' etc is fairly common for companies when the common name is taken, to avoid ... (company) eg Rolls-Royce plc. Rangoon11 (talk) 00:58, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Allens is not an LLP. It is a general partnership formed under the laws of New South Wales. The name of the firm is simply Allens. Davidbradbury (talk) 01:36, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Allens (confectionery) concerns a Nestle sub-brand only sold in one market. The subject of this article is a major international law firm. I think there is a strong case to be made that this is the primary topic for Allens. However if the consensus is not, I would much prefer "Allens LLP" to "Allens (law firm)" (per Apple Inc., Acer Inc., Ashurst LLP etc), which is clumsy and unnecessary.Rangoon11 (talk) 23:26, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thos stats do not take into account the use of "Allens" as the plural of "Allen", and linking to some "Allen" via a piped link. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 03:23, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
