Deal with EMI

This is largely a placeholder, as I do not have either the article or the reference in front of me, but there is a graf that starts with something like "In 1969, Klein made a new royalty deal with EMI..." I am pretty sure that the deal referred to was with EMI's U.S. subsidiary Capitol Records, not EMI proper. The companies were operated separately, and The Beatles at that time were in the middle of an EMI contract, thus the distinction is important. Also, it was the fact of these Capitol negotiations that caused Klein to ask that The Beatles not break up when John Lennon originally proposed to do so. Doc for all of this is in any number of Beatles books. Stendall (talk) 06:07, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

"Where's Elvis?"

Please explain how this article fits into the Elvis Presley project. To my knowledge, Klein never met or had any business connection with Presley, and no mentions of him have been made in any draft of this article. Zephyrad (talk) 23:28, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I don't know. Nothing comes up. Someone categorized it under Elvis Presley. It got tagged from the list of articles in that cat. I'm removing it. LaraLove 13:20, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Kleinsigning.jpg

Image:Kleinsigning.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:37, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Occupation

Was listed as "record producer" - but I see no reference to him actually being credited with that. Maybe record label owner, accountant, manager would be better? sherpajohn (talk) 16:02, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

rm cat American Jew

Hi, I just removed that cat American Jew. See the editsummary. Jee. -DePiep (talk) 19:48, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

DePiep, you are advised not to remove this category anymore or else you will be reported for violating WP:3RR. Wikipedia does not go by what you think is and is not relevant. Your first revert, your second revert. --GHcool (talk) 22:04, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
And the relevance of the catr is ...? -DePiep (talk) 23:30, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
As explained before, Category:American Jews denotes "Americans of ethnic Jewish heritage, including those with another religion or none at all born to Jewish parents." --GHcool (talk) 23:44, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Well, it might be a property. Just as his year of birth is. But why should we think or know he is a member of a jewish communty? -DePiep (talk) 23:59, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Because we also have categories for American Protestants, American Muslims, American Catholics, American Hindus, American Buddhists, etc, etc, etc. --Atikokan (talk) 03:30, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Relation

I believe that Ron Schneider (the producer on "Gimme Shelter") is his nephew; maybe this can be worked into the article as a little trivia tidbit? I unfortunately don't have any reliable source on this (I heard Ron talk about Allen at a screening of "Gimme Shelter"). 128.97.46.62 (talk) 16:28, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Matt

Controversies/Lawsuits

Is anyone going to put anything in this article about the many controversies surrounding Klein (manipulating stock in order to buy Cameo-Parkway/Creating Nanker Phelge Music Inc. to re-direct Rolling Stone royalties from the RS company Nanker Phelge Ltd./ Tax evasion conviction/Pocketing proceeds from promo copies of 'Concert for Bangladesh'/etc.)?

Klein has earned an infamy in the entertainment industry and any authoritative article about him should include this aspect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.80.94.130 (talk) 22:52, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
