Article rename

edit

Although it is correct that the train is most well known by its brand/service name Allegro, I'd have kept the name of the page intact and used Allegro (train) as a redirect as all other Finnish train-related articles use the format "Operator class number" (e.g. VR Class Sm3). --Yaamboo (talk) 08:38, 31 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Won't it depend on whether this an article about the vehicles, or about the Helsinki - St Petersburg train service? A Sm6 would still be a Sm6 if it were used on a different route one day, and the Allegro service would still be an Allegro service if all the Sm6s suddenly broke down and some other kind of rolling stock was used instead. A bit like Flying Scotsman (train) and LNER Class A3 4472 Flying Scotsman, or Olympic Javelin Shuttle and Class 395.
That's another point, yes. At the point the article is mainly about the vehicle, which would make the old title more relevant. The same service has also been run using the Sibelius. --Yaamboo (talk) 18:45, 2 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
The article has always been about the service, but only the technical part of it had been expanded properly. I've worked on expanding it and reorganising it, and I think things are a bit more clear now. If you think the technical details should be in their own article, we can of course split this article. In my opinion, it's fine the way it is, I think it currently describes the WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY and HOW of the Allegro service quite well. I want to add more section about the custom controls and the whole passport procedure on the train, as I've taken it many times (and so I'm very familiar with it), but the problem is I can't find any appropiate sources about this procedure and original research is against the rules of wikipedia. There is some information on that in the Resiina (1/2011) article that is referenced (in Finnish). --Yaamboo (talk) 10:35, 4 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

good article

edit

I think this article has potential, so I would like it to get improved and achieve good article status.

Is anybody interested in working with me to achieve this??
