Sports at Allan Wilson in the 90s edit
The school was blessed to have some of the top and greatest atheletes of all time in Zimbabwe
The great Philimon Hanneck better known in the states as Hanneck Philimon.He was discovered by the Late coach Chigwere in Rakodzi township of Marondera.He was a long distance and cross country speciliast.During his time the likes of Murahwa,richard mangwende and the Costar Takawira first Junior to be awarded school colours after amessing 7medals at the Old mutual Sprint challenge. Phil Hanneck never joined Allstar.He later joined All Stars under the guidamce of Robert Mutsauki,where he became one of the national house hold names in sprints events.He was later offerred a scholarship in the states to study alongside Hillary Mawindi(formerly Prince edward)
Also likes of Nesbert Saruchera,Samsom Choruwa,Claudious Zviripiya,kevin Makumbe ,Isaac Madziva,Nyasha Mushekwi were some of the greatest footballers to come out of Allan Wilson better know as DUB.Kevin Makumbe was crowned soccer star of the year in 2001 when he was lower six.
Gakakara the gymnast got a lot of national and international awards. Martin And marko maseko were the great tennis players in the group A schools circuit and won most of the major tournaments. Rugby produced some of the greatest players who later played for zim schools and national sides,the team was under the watchful eye of Mr Hills(no nonsense man.On the pool side Webster gonzo was on the best and he later joined prince Edward.
