Louis McLane Hamilton edit

I significantly reduced the paragraph regarding Allan's brother Louis, which included a very detailed record of his military service. I felt it was a bit much considering this article is about Allan, not Louis, and considering the fact that Louis actually has his own article separate from this one. However, in the interests of not causing an edit war, I've reproduced it here in full:

In 1868, Hamilton's older brother, Captain Louis McLane Hamilton, died while serving under General George Armstrong Custer.[1] During the Civil War, as a 17-year-old in June 1862, Louis had enlisted as a volunteer in the 22nd New York Militia. He subsequently entered the 3rd U.S. Infantry as a second lieutenant, and was twice brevetted for gallantry, including at the Battle of Gettysburg.[2] In July 1866, he became a captain in the 7th U.S. Cavalry.[2] Louis was killed while leading his command during Custer's 1868 attack on Black Kettle's Cheyenne encampment in the Battle of Washita River, and was posthumously brevetted for gallantry to the rank of major.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.8.203.16 (talk) 15:37, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. The level of detail predates Louis having his own article. Lwarrenwiki (talk) 02:31, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
