Infobox edit

  • Remove the release format as it can only be purchased along with the album
  • Torch is not a music genre

  Done

Lead edit

  • the pop and torch song → the pop song (see on infobox)
Removed the "and" so it reads "pop torch song".
  • If you are going to mention the US peak you should also mention the French and Australia
  • Adele performed it during Adele Live in New York City, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards → don't mention every performance and add dates
  • You could add something else from the "Background and composition" section here
Anything particular?
Maybe the disagreament regarding the line "lovers" or that Adele as "fun" working on the song. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 15:09, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Background and composition edit

  • Aiming to create a "big, diva, ballad", Bruno Mars and Adele began conducting sessions for her third studio album, 25 (2015) → this is not true, they first wanted to create an "uptempo" song See here
Added. It used to be here initially but accidentally got removed during my rewrite.
  • Adele Adkins → Adkins
  • Adele has stated that her vocals on "All I Ask" are her most "showoff-y", adding that Mars hit all the notes in the studio too. → very bias the first instance because its her saying it about hersef and the second portion because she worked with him she will praise who she works with
I don't see what's biased about this statement? Can you suggest another way to phrase it.
I wish I could, its bias as it is Adele stating that, if it was a music review or a critic or anyone else that hasn't worked directly on the song, it would be fine. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 13:49, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
More on Overall section. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:57, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • look[s] forward to singing that part. It's fucking perfect → the source says "Sometimes I play it on the piano, and I look forward to singing that part. It’s fucking perfect.", which is quite diferent. Neverthless replace it with "It's this grand word that makes the song bigger because no one says it. Because nobody talks like that, it pops out."
The original statement was in the source too. But revised.
  • "knocked the whole thing out in just two sessions" → should also be on the article, that they finished the song in two sessions
  • Mars has stated that Adele is "incredible", has "got some pipes on her and [is] just a superstar", → same as previous
Do you mean this is 'biased' too? Suggest another way to state this please.
Yes I mean that is bias, once more it is one of the producers saying that, if it was a music review or a critic or anyone else that hasn't worked directly on the song, it would be fine. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 13:49, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Inspired by singer-songwriter → Inspired by American singer-songwriter
  • stripped instrumentation of only piano → features only piano in its instrumentation
  • and has been described as different from "the rest of modern pop". → what strikes you is how different her songs sound from the rest of modern pop. (not exacly the same)
Tried to write this more objectively. Feel free to go ahead and remove that bit if it still isn't suitable.
Not suitable still. Moreover, he is commenting on a concert.
  • It sees the singer → songs can't see, nor lyrics
  • The sample "and sets Adele gusting over the octaves." → not on any source
  • Pearhaps divide in two diferent setions as it will become bigger after the changes below.
  • What is "Multiple image" with nothing on it?

  Done

Critical reception edit

  • music critics → link to music journalism
  • Source fifteen and sixteen are the same jsut by diferent publications, keep the original one, which is mic
  • Neil McCormick of The Telegraph described "All I Ask" as a "deep, resonant piano ballad" → this is compostion
  • On MTV add "This song is so emotional..." → its key here
  • Most of the first paragraph is compostion, including Sterogum and so on as
  • Add this source [1]

Chart performance edit

  • debuted and peaked → debuted at its peak
  • Charts respectively → Charts, respectively
  • In January 2016 the song entered → any particular reason? and source for it as well
  • four sources in a row make the text very clunky
  • On Canadian Digital Songs, "All I Ask" managed to reach number 34 → when?
  • The song was successful → remove (it didn't even enter the main chart)
  • It had similar success → same as previous

  Done

Live performances edit

  • Re-title "Live performances and covers"
  • Adele performed the song → Adele first performed the song
  • Adele also performed the song on The Late Late Show with James Corden during the "Carpool Karaoke" segment. → During The Late Late Show with James Corden on (add date) Adele included "All I Ask" on the popular segment Carpool Karaoke.
  • A month later...15 February 2016 → twice the dates?
  • some criticism → if it is some needs more than one source (three is the maximum)
  • It was performed on selected dates of her Adele Live 2016 tour. → needs other source, this to general and the article doesn't address this issue
The second source you added as the video taken not from Adele's Youtube channel, copyright violation on Youtube and can't be here. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 14:32, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • This is important "Fortunately for the singer, she’s been able to “redeem” herself in the eyes of the public" click
  • Add to the third paragraph "Bruno Mars and his band, The Hooligans, covered the song during the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge on 2 November 2016"
  • Merge the first and second paragraph into one
All done, I think. Decided to remove the criticism bit altogether, since sources seem to have been positive of the performance despite the technical issues.
Good choice. Left you a comment MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 14:32, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • United States → remove
  • Mastering?

Charts edit

  • The billboard digita links are all broken, find and archive them
Done for Canada. But it doesn't seem like Billboard keeps archives for Sweden and Netherlands, nothing on web.archive.org either. Don't know what is to be done here.
If its not to be seen, try archive.is and webcitation.org to look for them, if you can't find it then they need to be removed. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 14:51, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Fix reference 51
  • Boston glob requires subscription to see the entire article, should be added
  • BBC source lacks date and accessdate + publisher

Overall edit

  • Add the National Post source as well.
Couldn't find an article about this song from the National Post?
Above on the talk page, ref ideas, it has Charles Moniz commenting on it, about a broken glass. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 14:03, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • I believe everything has been done. Feel free to go through it.--NØ 14:15, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

@MaranoFan: It doesn't have the spanish entry on the source. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 16:19, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Hmm, apparently it used to appear at number 46 on the issue dated 2015-11-29, but the chart has been changed to no longer show AIA now. I’ve currently retained the chart entry with an archive but I’ll let you make the final call.—NØ 17:03, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Regarding said chart, it doesn't appear anymore becaause that was the peak on the Spanish Digital Singles and not Spanish chart. Select year:2015 and week 44,[2], and you will see that "All I Ask" is not there, so it also needs to be removed from here. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:21, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Just one thing to go and we are done. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:21, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
An editor added a bunch of pictures I kept one, are you ok with it? I honestly don't care that much. On top of that, I made several changes to the article, see if you are also ok with those? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:46, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
I don't know hot to fix such error. I made changes to it, take a look. If you are ok, it's done. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:57, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm okay with the changes, thanks for a comprehensive review.—NØ 22:00, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
You welcome, I had fun. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 22:01, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
