editThis is so exciting! I cannot beleive that we are on wikipedia!
Year-by-year Breakdown
editI don't really think we need a year-by-year breakdown. I think it would be a cleaner, most pleasant-to-read article if we broke it down into "eras". For example, we could break it down into five to ten year mini "eras", with a label for each "era" characterizing the main things about those years. Obviously the easy way to do this is to break it down between the Glenville years and the Chuck years, but I don't like that idea. I don't like the choir being broken into two like that -- we're one big family as far as I am concerned.
What does anyone think about this? (Michael Herold 17:36, 22 July 2007 (UTC))
Clean-up
editThe year-by-year is completely unnecessary and is going to be removed. Also, the extensive biographies on the conductors will be abbreviated. Higgyrun3 (talk) 01:13, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Check that- Those changes were undone/not done. Does anyone believe those changes are appropriate? Maybe someone can undertake simplifying the year-by-year like the above user suggested. Higgyrun3 (talk) 02:43, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Volunteering to Clean-up
editI am an alumni from '95-'97 and I'm working on my Master's Degree in Educational Technology. I am going to do some of this clean-up as part of that class. If anyone has any problems with that - please let me know! Scarey121 (talk) 15:41, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Please, go ahead! I'll chime in if I have any suggestions. --Michael Herold (talk) 02:46, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
I know that some subjects (ex World Serries) have subpages about each year of the event. Would this be a good idea, so that someone wanting to learn just about a certain year can just click on that year and read about it instead of having to scroll through all the years on the main page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Datrain021 (talk • contribs) 20:28, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I like the idea, but I'm afraid that it might cause a bunch of stub articles. I would say add very pertinent information to any year you can, and then we can move from there. That will make this article more valuable and possibly expand what we can do with the page. As it is, the article was at one point in danger of deletion for not being material fit for Wikipedia. I think we need to work primarily on the information supplied and the wikification of said information. The year list is still atrocious and needs to be cleaned up somehow. Let's worry about the basics before moving on to subpages and the like. My two cents. --Michael Herold (talk) 00:11, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
rewrite
editI rewrote and condensed the entire article. This is a state youth choir, and the present article is the correct size. Updating it each year with details of the songs performed and the board of directors is highly inappropriate; their annual performances at the State Fair are not the World Series. . What would help, is if anyone can add a discography. Some of the material for it is in the earlier versions of the article. Ifthere are any national-level awards, they too should be added.
