Regarding article removal - Sometimes there are not a lot of sources for things and what was "common knowledge" and was factual is lost because no one bothers to write things down (case in point: no one knows for sure how to correctly fold and wear a Feileadh Mòr/Great Kilt because 'everyone knew' how it was done). It is far better to preserve the knowledge without documentation until someone who knows how and is motivated to do the in-depth research to substantiate the article's knowledge than it is to destroy the information.

As for 'importance:' What is trivia to one is make or break data to another. I wouldn't have looked up the information if I didn't need to know it. What is really meant here is that the information has 'low importance' to the great majority of users, but is still meaningful to very meaningful to the few whom require it. The needs of the many should not outweigh the needs of the few when we are talking about disk space and historical data.
