Vic Tayback photo

I'm thinking of replacing the picture I loaded of Vic Tayback to one of Linda Lavin, as she was the star. Any thoughts? Mike H 22:30, Jul 20, 2004 (UTC)

I uploaded a better, much clearer picture of Linda Lavin. If the consensus is to revert to the earlier version, I'm fine with that. -Ichabod 11:32, 5 August 2005 (UTC)
That's a great photo, thank you. --JamesB3 12:17, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Alice dvd.jpg

Image:Alice dvd.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Precise rerun dates

I have to say I'm impressed that someone is posting exactly the date that reruns were started and ended back in the early 1980s. I'm not requesting a citation (there's no stick up my butt and this isn't exactly of earth-shattering consequence), but I really am curious to know how these dates were found. Is there some kind of online resource, or does someone have a very, very old and complete collection of TV Guides? Njsustain (talk) 13:42, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Differences between the TV show and the movie.

As the article points out, "Alice" was based on the movie "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore." There were a few differences between the movie and the TV series, the most significant being the location of Mel's Diner. The TV show was set in Phoenix, while the movie (as I recall) took place in Tuscon.

Also, if my memory serves me correctly, Mel was a widower in the movie, and the diner was named after both him and his late wife. Vic Tayback played Mel in the movie as well as the TV series.76.4.66.164 (talk) 16:30, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes, the article points out all of that. Please consider reading the whole thing before commenting and/or making changes.Njsustain (talk) 20:10, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
