Algy Ward on The Saints "This Perfect Day" single?

edit

«Ward's first appearance with The Saints was in 1977 on their third single, "This Perfect Day."» Well, this is wrong, and so is the beautiful but mistyfying paragraph which follows that sentence. The bassist on the 7/77 single was Kim Bradshaw, the A side was recorded in June, and the B side tracks in February of that year. You can check their TotP appearance (14/7/77), there's still Bradshaw playing with The Saints. Bradshaw left circa the end of that very month and then in August-September Algy Ward joined the band through reccomendation by his brother who had been a roadie in The Saints' UK tour. Ward certainly recorded a couple of versions of "This Perfect Day", but only the album versions (the official Eternally Yours album LP and the alternate "International Robots" version), not the single. I tend to agree. Can't find any great sources online. Best is an interview with Bradshaw where he talks about playing on Top of the Pops. I guess we should leave it a couple of days to see if anyone disagrees before removing. Doctorhawkes (talk) 05:51, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
