First marriage?

edit

Was Alfonso II not married 1st to (and divorced from) Mathilde (or Mafalde) of Portugal? ----Michael K. Smith 19:37, 12 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Name

edit

The name is not "Alfonso" but "Alfons" since he was not a castillan king and 'therefore' did not bear spanish name... I thus propose to rename the page "Alfons II" as in the reference catalan page.

In fact his true name (after being renamed from Ramon Berenguer) was Ildefons, Alfonso and Alfons are the modern spanish and catalan/occitan version of this name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.235.29.103 (talk) 17:06, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Occitan-language poet?

edit

Aren't at least some of his works classed as Occitan rather than Catalan? 41.241.40.51 (talk) 19:45, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
