It was notable enough for the Virginia Historical Society to write about it in the 1940s... I think what is truly interesting about this matter is the fact that Jefferson and a French officer in the Revolutionary Army actually tried to get this off the ground. As such, it is notable by the fact that such an action was attempted and failed apparently through the loss of French crown funding courtesy of the French Revolution. Swings and roundabouts as you say.. Just because an endeavor fails, does not means that it is not notable, otherwise delete the Bay of Pigs wiki, together with Scott's expedition to the South Pole, etc etc. 220.238.49.115 (talk) 11:27, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
