references that contain advertisements
editThe "Patent Portfolio" page referenced here is full of ads. After five layers of web ads, you finally are directed to the actual patent at uspto.gov. Is this appropriate? I am asking because I haven't been here that long and need some experienced advice. Gtwfan52 (talk) 21:56, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
secondary sources
editWelcome to Wikipedia. The policies here can seem rather strange to beginners so I will be posting a link to them to the originating editor on this page. Please familiarize yourself with them. I removed the reference to world atlas because it comes up a placemarker. The information that refers to it should go too. Linkdin, Facebook, MySpace, etc. are never acceptable links here. And contrary to your claim, you have not referenced any "official sites" and you have no secondary sources. See WP:SECONDARY. Gtwfan52 (talk) 22:09, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
