British anti-communists?

This article is in the category British anti-communists[1]. Is that correct? Article gives no reason for this. By the way, if it is accurate, maybe be better in category Scottish anti-communists[2].BobFromBrockley (talk) 21:46, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

His book The Socialist Tradition is a critical overview of various figures associated with socialist/communist/anarchist thought, and in its preface he bluntly states he does not like Marx. In that regard the category fits, although anti-communism clearly didn't motivate his life in a way that it did for, say, Robert Conquest or Brian Crozier. --Ismail (talk) 10:17, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

Statement about birth and citation issue

The statement early in the article that Sir Alexander Gray "was born at 1 Marshall Street in Lochee near Dundee" is slightly problematic to my mind. By the time Sir Alexander was born, Lochee was a part of what was then the burgh of Dundee, having been annexed some years earlier. Thus saying it was near Dundee in 1882, would be a bit like saying today Leith is near Edinburgh or Govan is near Glasgow. Also I note that the source which is cited next to Lochee is a Dundee Post Office Directory from the 1860s - 'Dundee Post Office Directory 1868–69 (Lochee). I am not sure why this citation is here. It cannot show anything about where Sir Alexander Gray was born as it was published over ten years before his birth. There is also no page number of further details, yet Dundee Post Office Directories for this period, including from the 1880s, are freely available online via the National Library of Scotland's website. It seems a really odd inclusion, but perhaps I am missing something. Dunarc (talk) 20:29, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
