South Belfast brigadier edit

The article does not say when he became South Belfast brigadier. Jackie McDonald succeeded John McMichael as south Belfast brigadier when the latter was killed in December 1987.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 13:46, 18 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I couldn't find an answer in any source unfortunately. Plenty describe Kerr as South Belfast brigadier but don't say anything about McDonald holding the same position. My personal opinion is that McDonald spent most of the first half of the 1990s in prison and so Kerr presumably served as brigadier in his absence but no source found yet. Peter Taylor in Loyalists states that McDonald took over from McMichael but as you say he was in prison until 1994.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 18:30, 18 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Taylor says this on page 170. Tyrie himself promoted McDonald to the rank of brigadier for South Belfast.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 18:32, 18 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sorted - McDonald had two spells as Brigadier the first ending with his arrest in 1989 and the second commencing after Kerr was stood down. I've amended the article to show that. Keresaspa (talk) 18:40, 18 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I figured McDonald's imprisonment between 1989 and 1994 had something to do with it.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 05:36, 19 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

DOB needs a citation edit

Citing the source in the edit summary is not proper sourcing. The citation needs to come after the DOB in the lead. And British dating is used for this subject meaning the day-month-year format.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 14:46, 3 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have been searching over the 'Net and I cannot locate this book Important people in the Troubles; neither do I come across anything about an author or journalist bearing the name Arthur Stone-Franklinson. If such a book exists, you need to give the title, author's name, page number, publisher, year and place of publication as well as ISBN number. I should point out that Alex Kerr is a living person and Wikipedia takes BLP issues very seriously.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 16:20, 3 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
That book and author obviously don't exist so I've removed the DOB.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 06:35, 5 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
