Incoherence between "Alban Hills" and "Monte Cavo"

Here are told that the dominant peak of the Alban Hills is Monte Cavo, but in Monte Cavo, is told that this hill is the second one. We would have to choose, wouldn't have ? --Flodelaplage (talk) 10:13, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

I see what you mean there. Monte Cavo has been altered to make it the second highest. I noticed the "dominant" myself. I left it, because most people are looking at the hills from Rome or the lakes; in that case, all you see is Monte Cavo, so socially speaking and from the main point of view it is "dominant." That word has emotional overtones in English. It is not strictly speaking scientific, unless the scientist wants to use a figure of speech. A mountain-climber might use it taking pride in the fact that he can dominate the dominant peak. This is beginning to remind me of the Eiger Sanction. Surely you would not deny the Romans a favorite emotion as they identify with their peak? If Rome did not dominate the world, why are we writing about it? Last eruption

The info box states that the last eruption took place 5000 BC. However, in the section about Volcanic activity the two most recent eruptions are dated to have happened around 40 000 years ago. The Italian article (it:Vulcano Laziale) gives a source (Funiciello et al., 2002) which says that the last vulcanic activities (lahars etc) took place 5000 years ago. According to the same article the last eruption took place 19000 years ago. Gugganij (talk) 19:22, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
