If I am correct, Mr Allan was the first student in the history of Glasgow University to write his degree entirely in Scots (other than those papers he wrote in Gaelic). I understand that this was made possible by Scots being recognised as "a variety of English" by the University authorities. (79.190.69.142 (talk) 15:37, 15 January 2012 (UTC))Reply
