edit- Aug 31, 2009 Writing, "Her reception as A.D.A. Rubirosa has been nothing short of outstanding...." seems like a very subjective statement. Wiki articles aren't fan pages. None of the references used in support of the claim used the word "outstanding". Seems a bit too strong. co94 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.124.132.196 (talk) 18:07, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
I was unaware that the original article was copyrite protected. I have rewritten the article in my own words, using several web pages as sources. What is here now is my work, culled from web-based research.
Pageant Issue
editI am reverting to the previous edit, because all online sources credit Ms. de la Garza with winning "Miss Photogenic" in the Miss Teen USA pageant at the El Paso, TX level. I cannot confirm that online, though I have tried, because Miss Teen El Paso, TX does not maintain an online archive of their past pageant winners. But the pageant itself can be found online, with the current winners available. -- CrimsonLine 14:33, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well I am reverting to Miss El Paso Teen USA... assuming that is what it is - perhaps the most likely suspect. -- PageantUpdater • talk | contribs | esperanza 21:35, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Rating her Importance
editAlana de la Garza's historical importance to her profession is something that only the future will tell. She has just been hired as a major character on Law & Order, and has been strongly rumored as a candidate for the lead character in Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman movie. Now, that movie is a long way from casting, and nobody knows what direction they'll end up going in. If she gets the role, this will be a fairly important pop-culture article. If she doesn't get the role, but does well in her L&O role, this article will rise in importance. These are still unknowns. Will she ever be among the top 200 people listed in Wikipedia's biographies section? No. Top 200 in her discipline? Unlikely. But of relative importance? Strong possibility. - I wound up rating the article as "Start" class. I feel it's a good start, but needs a lot more work to become a strong article. It needs a picture, as well. I've written to ADG's publicists, and tried to get permission to run a photograph, but have not heard back yet. -- 19:34, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
