Goldstein shot and/or paralyzed??? edit

Wasn't Goldstein shot and paralyzed (put in a wheelchair) by somebody? Or am I thinking of somebody else??? Thanks in advance to anybody who knows. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.154.20.113 (talk) 23:24, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

That was Larry Flynt who published the magazine Hustler. 108.16.0.94 (talk) 05:27, 17 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Death and Retrospective edit

  • An Associated Press item[1] (via ABC News) concerning Goldstein's death earlier today and a capsule sketch of his life. Not needed at the moment as death cited to NYT, but placing link here for future expansion of the article. Dwpaul Talk 15:42, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sourcing question edit

@C.Fred: I stumbled upon the Al Goldstein article and although I have no personal knowledge about the man (and really no interest in learning about him), I noticed that the entire article was incorrectly sourced. I started correcting the source code from the top but had to skip most of this section because the editor has extensively used scanned images on Tumblr for the sourcing. It is arguably the most important section of the entire article so my immediate reaction was to remove all of the tumblr links and replace them with "reliable" online sources. However, I have not been successful in locating any - not because Goldstein wasn't notable but probably because the details of his original (and most famous) publication were not suitable for public reading in the 60's and 70's. I would appreciate any suggestions you have for improving this article in general, but sourcing this section in particular. Thanks! PatsySchmatsy (talk) 15:02, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Lament the article being prettied up edit

I'm sorry with the changes of 3. Oct. 2015. Makes him sound nicer than he was. He wasn't nice at all. That he would publish pornographic pictures (fakes) showing his son having sex with farm animals, with the intention of publicly humiliating his son, is something in my judgment that should be included. deisenbe (talk) 18:45, 5 January 2016 (UTC).
