  • I've added an alt hook seeing as three out of the four sources say that, and I'll leave it to the reviewer to decide which is best. In my opinion, when people hear "longest escalator", they automatically assume "longest single-span uninterrupted escalator". Steelkamp (talk) 03:21, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
• Article expansion began on the 1st of September. Expansion was sufficiently big, hook is interesting and cited in source, earwig only highlighted direct quotes, QPQ done. I'd be fine with the original hook - 2 interrupted escalators don't count in most people's book, I'd say. I would mention Perth in there somewhere, though, "Airport Central" can be anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere from Cape Town to Christchurch. Juxlos (talk) 11:08, 9 September 2022 (UTC)

    • @Steelkamp and Juxlos: - Unsure if I'm being needlessly pedantic here, but the source used in the article for this being the longest elevator, the Airport Central fact sheet, only says it is one of the longest, not the longest. It's easily corrected, perhaps with one of the sources listed here, but I wasn't sure if there was a reason they are not already cited in the article. CSJJ104 (talk) 20:25, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
      • Interesting. That source's archive from November 2021 says it is the longest. The source appears to have been updated in September 2022 to say it is one of the longest. This might be in reference to an escalator that was installed at Sydney Central railway station earlier this year, which is 45 metres (148 ft) long. That escalator opens in 2024 though. The Airport Central station escalator was the longest in the southern hemisphere when it was installed and will be the longest operating escalator in the southern hemisphere on 9 October. As such, I have added an ALT 2 blurb. Steelkamp (talk) 13:59, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
        • ALT2 is fine, although possibly with "single-span" removed? My concern though is that WP:DYK rule 3 requires the fact to be cited at the end of the sentence in the article, so we would need another citation here either as well as or replacing the one we have that explicitly states it is the longest operating escalator. • "On the concourse are fare gates, toilets, and a staff office." – I may be being picky here, but this seems like an excessive amount of detail. I would assume all airport stations have these. Alternatively, perhaps it could be rephrased as "On the concourse are the fare gates and utilities." or something similar.

• "There are also two emergency staircases at either end of the platform, and two emergency staircases from the concourse, which all lead to external ground level." – same concerns as above. The public links to the three levels seem notable to me, but mentioning all the emergency exists is fairly intricate detailing.
  • I've removed that entire sentence.
• "and an original musical score." – do the sources say by whom?
  • Unfortunately I could not find any information on this.

• "There is also artwork along the walls and travellators designed by Jade Dolman and Crispian Warrell of Nani Creative." – located throughout the station? Also:

  • No. There is no routine release of station patronage data so the only hope is that if patronage is particularly good, the government will release it to show off.
