"Air Corps" security force

Security forces in combat theaters remained in the Military Police branch, not the Air Corps (although they were ASWAAF -- Arms and Services with the Army Air Forces) units under overseas Air Forces (not Air Corps) operational control. Only within the US were Military Police Companies, Aviation redesignated (briefly) as Guard Squadrons and transferred from one branch to another. --Lineagegeek (talk) 00:08, 13 January 2018 (UTC)

Propose move to "Air force ground forces and special forces"

Purpose would be to add units that are not strictly considered infantry, but have a significant ground combat role, such as Luftwaffe armored units during WWII and other base defense forces.

Wrong picture text

Creating section as requested by @Garuda28: because of my edit and his subsequent revert. The text that described the lead picture before and now again is, simply put, wrong. The German security contingent on Büchel Air Base, which by the way the German picture description on the commons notes, is part of the Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 33 and therefore doesn´t belong to the German Air Force Regiment. There can be issue about the best translation for the squadron (after it being renamed a few years ago the literal transltion would be Air Security [or Protection] Squadron S) but written as it is now it`s not telling the truth. ...GELongstreet (talk) 21:19, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

Security Forces Needs Update and Correct Info

As per the Air Force Security Force discussion (on that page) this page requires some edits. Security Forces are Ground Forces but not Infantry or Special Forces and updates need to be made in reflection of this as it assumes that SecFor is either Infantry or Special Forces when they are a conventional ground force. One could argue that SecFor DAGRE is a Special Operation Force but that is another discussion Mrkoww (talk) 14:31, 29 July 2019 (UTC)

There is no USAF infantry or special forces

Again Garuda28 is putting false info on pages. There is no us air force infantry. They are ground forces. There is also no Special forces in the air force. There is special operations but not special forces. This is the type of misinformation that people hate about wikipedia. We had this discussion page before about this issue and Garuda continues to put fake information on the internet.

First I would suggest you stop your personal attacks against me. I did not add that information – on the contrary it was on Wikipedia for years.

On to the content itself there are many air forces that have integral infantry and describe them as such (RAF Regiment). This page is for all air forces, not just the United States. From the RAF Regiment association "All members of the Regiment, however, were initially trained as combat infantrymen, an arrangement that continues to the present day." (https://www.rafregt.org.uk/regiment-info/raf-regiment-history/). Moreover special forces is a general term used world wide for special operations forces.
