The matter of the Royal Family in an international context is always somewhat clumsy. Yes, the group is often referred to as the "British Royal Family", but, as with the use of the term "Queen of England", it is incorrect and misleading to do so in some jurisdictions. As the posts of Air Commodore-in-Chief outside of the UK are not within British jurisdiction, those are such cases where it would be wrong to say members of the British Royal Family occupied the positions. I tried "the realms' shared royal family", but this was reverted for the reason that "British Royal Family is the name of the article" - though, I don't believe my words at all implied otherwise; I was merely trying to use neutral terms linking to a neutral location. My next attempt - "the Canadian Royal Family, British Royal Family, or the same individuals in their capacity as members of the Royal Family of other Commonwealth realms" - was rearranged to "the Royal Family... sometimes in their capacity as members of the Australian Royal Family, Canadian Royal Family or New Zealand Royal Family." The latter, however, has a couple of issues: 1) though I personally believe them to be applicable, it uses terms like "Australian Royal Family" and "New Zealand Royal Family", for which there are no verifiable references; and 2) it relegates the non-British guises of the family to sub-sets of its British form, which is contradictory to other cited facts on Wikipedia. I've since restored something similar to my second proposal, but I find it's rather unnecessarily clunky. Happy to go for "However, since the second half of the 20th century, other members of the Commonwealth realms' shared Royal Family have been appointed to such positions" but need to preserve a link to British Royal Family as this is the article on the group of people who currently hold air commodore-in-chief appointments.
