Non military and non-US awardees

edit

According to the description it appears that the award can be made to those "serving in or with" US forces. I would be interested to know if this is just "lawyer speak" for "in" or if the medal has been awarded to those outside US armed forces. Rich Farmbrough, 17:13, 21 August 2012 (UTC).Reply

This came up when I was doing the EO related stuff over on Wikisource and I was shown/told at the time that members of the Canadian, Aussie and Brit forces have indeed recieved this medal. Only one RAF member is clearly listed further down as best as I can tell however. -- George Orwell III (talk) 17:35, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
... also recall something about woman pilot who shuttled planes from factories to ports something like a kagillion times during the war but not sure if it was this citation she/they recieved or even if the story was 100% true for that matter. -- George Orwell III (talk) 17:39, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
