Talk:African military systems after 1900

Created page with outline. Not all events can be covered so only important developments like the algerian War, Ethiopia, survey of southern african conflicts, rise of terrorism, coups civil wars etc- blurbs on each etc, basically military systems keep evolving and growing.

Obviously every minor skrimish or revolt cannot be covered. There should be some significant illustration of a war event, tactical system, weapons system or general trend or pattern. It should be kept military and be of some significance. A nationalist political rally or demonstration might have set the stage for something bigger politically but doesnt really belong here. Likewise a small rebellion like the Bambata rebellion in Zululand would not make the cut. If it was one of a series of guerrilla rebellions across the region then it would form part of a general warfare pattern and would be significant, but it was not part of any such pattern. Just some guidelines. Any interested- go for it!

Image copyright problem with File:ALN-soldier-mortar.png edit

The image File:ALN-soldier-mortar.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Possible fair use image of Somalian technical image edit

The file is used on this page and 3 others, but it might not constitute fair use for all 4 pages (furthermore, specific fair use rationales are missing). Feel free to comment at File_talk:D8m9caf00.jpg. L.tak (talk) 14:33, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
