Etymology and spelling edit

alright, so this has been wrong for years. Not only did the article confuse ayin with aleph, it also incorrectly suggested, in the title, that the root is [aleph]-dal-nun, while in reality it is dal-waw/yod-nun.

This makes me wonder if the Ugaritic references are correct. The Hebrew spelling is 'dwn. The article claims the Ugaritic spelling is 'adn, i.e. without the waw. Is this correct? --dab (𒁳) 19:11, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Use of adoni and adonai for Humans and God edit

The article states that adoni is used for God in Psalm 16:2. This is incorrect; the word there is adonai. The article also states that adonai is reserved only for God. This is also incorrect; adonai is used by Gideon for the angel of YHWH (whom Gideon does not yet know is an angel) in Judges 6:15, and is used by Shecaniah for Ezra in Ezra 10:3.
