The page originally said something to the effect that the award is given by "an independent panel consisting of national sportwriters, coaches, and sports administrators", but it is my understanding that it is the AP Player of the Year award, and this source, among others, corroborates that. 151.204.152.94 08:19, 23 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Well, now I'm really confused. This page says that Andrew Bogut won the AP Player of the Year award in 2005, but JJ Redick won the Rupp that year, so I guess they're not one and the same. I'm restoring it until someone who knows more than I can rectify this. 151.204.152.94 08:20, 23 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
