 Wrong Amendment?

Wasn't the liberty of contract that was validated by this case established under the Fourteenth amendment not the Fifth?

The Due Process Clause in the Fourteenth Amendment is at issue when the actions of state governments are; the Fifth Amendment's Due Process Clause applies to actions of the federal government. As this case involved Washington, D.C., the Fifth Amendment is therefore the relevant one and the one that was cited in the case. Postdlf 16:37, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
