Given that the Adena Culture lived during the Woodland Period, (1000 BC - 200 BC) is it really appropriate to use the term "prehistoric" here?   • Academic standards from several decades ago, defined 'prehistoric' as before written records. Thus, when our source of information if from archeological research, the culture is considered 'prehistoric'. Contact with two brothers who are archeologists, one with the U.S. Forest Service, the other a contract archeologist for the petroleum industry, both North American focused. --Chris Light (talk) 20:54, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
