Party & Play

edit

the combination of sex (particularly unsafe sex) and drugs (particularly methamphetamine and particularly gay sex is termed party and play in the gay subculture, many websites offer a No PNP button on their profiles so non-users can distance themselves and to promote prohibition of the substance. It is thus relevant to mention the party and play phenomenon and link to the appropriate article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hemanetwork (talkcontribs)

Please only use sources that discuss Adam4Adam as a PnP website. As for drawing conclusions that this website facilitates drug use and unsafe sex, you would need unambiguous sources to make such a defamatory and controversial claim or implication. Oh, and it be useful if you signed your comments. Thanks, (talk) 06:49, 20 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I was not making that claim, the reference to meth+sex is already in the article an obvious conclusion is that this website facilitates this, as do the individuals ISPs, phones, streets, homes, needles, electric power, no blame is intended towards A4A, moreover this this behavior is called PNP/Party and play and it would be relevant to link to — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hemanetwork (talkcontribs)

If you first added this same material to Electric power or Home then I would give your argument some credence. Examining "HIV (STDs, STIs, and Viral Hepatitis) Prevention and Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) Needs Assessment" this report was for Indiana, so drawing conclusions in general rather than for Indiana is original research and the only mention of Adam4Adam is in quotations from "Chas", an interviewed subject, and it would be inappropriate to draw conclusions about the website based on quotes from a single member of the public when the report itself makes no specific statement about the website. You are misusing the source and failing to apply the guidance of WP:SYNTH, please stop adding this same material and your original research to several gay website articles at the same time. Your actions appear to be lobbying rather than to the benefit of Wikipedia. Thanks, (talk) 07:17, 20 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's ridiculous, then any study would only draw conclusions for that state or only the personal lives of the test subjects if you want to get that pedantic. And I didn't add them to electric power or home, because well in those two cases it really doesn't make sense and I just happened to come across this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hemanetwork (talkcontribs)
The study states "In its primary focus, the design of study reflects the profile of the epidemic in the State of Indiana amongst intersecting subcategories of MSM, such as race/ethnicity, age, gender and sexual identities, and sexual practices." The researchers involved draw no international or USA wide conclusions from the data collected in Indiana, consequently neither should we. Thanks, (talk) 07:43, 20 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nationality

edit

While most of its clientele are from the US, what evidence is there that Adam4Adam is "an American online dating website"? Its WhoIs listing is privatized/proxied. Additionally, they clearly have problems with English use per both the banner ads which they manage, and their blog/blogger.
