French language listed first? edit

How French is this?
Leslie Halliwell, in his 1970s Film Guide to 8,000 English Language Films, lists it, and that book definitely does not include foreign language titles.
Halliwell says it is a US film for UA. Nothing about French co-production. He notes it is an early French location shoot, only.
A stray trivia item at the IMDb says Kirk Douglas did his own dialogue in the French version however.
A couple of sources mention Kessel writing the French dialogue.
So it sounds like an English language film with more French than is usual.
I am changing the language order in the infobox accordingly.
