im not a historian or anything, but i bet those "unfounded accusations" of piracy by the dutch aren't as unfounded as you might think. From what I can tell theres a long history of drawing inspiration from the rest of the islamic world in Aceh and it said in this page that they would hostagetake after conquering. It sounds extremley similar to the barbary states, which operated on kidnapping, enslaving, and ransoming christians as the basis of thier economies. I bet that if someone did some digging, they might be able to find evidence supporting the dutch's claims.

Not that im saying that justifies what the dutch did ofc. They wouldn'ta ever been a country if not for king Philip being distracted by the islamic empire in the medditeranean, not to mention they used privateers of thier own. fuckers. 72.89.63.130 (talk) 17:12, 14 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Flag controversy edit

it's a surprise that the traditional flag of "Aceh Sultanate" is mistakenly too similar to that of the Ottoman Turks; Latest estimate is that the traditional flag of Aceh was very closely resembling the art of Indonesia.

coconut cutter edit

The actual flag of Aceh Sultanate is like a blade used as a "Coconut Cutter".

Seal of Aceh edit

The original coat of arms of the Aceh Sultanate was very similar to Pagaruyung Kingdom, whom inherited from their northern patron.

Ottoman protectorate edit

Aceh Sultanate was a Yang and black flag until "Iskandar Muda" became a puppet of the Ottoman Turks.

there is not a single, but rather two separate and divergent article about the "Aceh Sultanate".
