Link Wray has a great song with this name, how are we going to solve the issue if an article about it is created?

Easy; move this article to Ace of Spades (Motörhead song) and the other would presumably be at Ace of Spades (Link Wray song). Merge

They are two distinct objects as far as I'm concerned, this was suggested when I wrote the two and because of my resistance it was taken to VfD (as it was then), I'm still very disinclined to having these two different singles merged into one article. Speed Metal?

How's about trimming down the "In Popular Culture" section, you know, to things that really are in popular culture? Added the live appearances of the song and in the process tried to restructure the article a bit more coherently. I agree with the above comment, I think the In popular culture section, and even the cover versions section, contain a lot of inane trivia. It was also covered by Drain Sth. This is a note worthy cover as drain was considered grunge though they started after the death of Kurt Cobain

I deleted the item that said that the first 30 seconds of Metallica's Whiplash sounded like main riff of Motorhead's Ace of Spades. It is not a cover and the claim isn't even true. -Ttcfcl (talk) 05:07, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Del Amitri used to do a cover of this in their live performances. You can find a video on Youtube of this and I have certainly been present at a concert when they have covered it. Kateab (talk) 10:47, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Blues version

There's a blues version of this song, apparently also recorded by Motorhead, floating around. See, for example, youtube copy here. Does anyone have details of where this recording can be found, when it was released, etc? JulesH (talk) 15:44, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

It was written by George Formby, not Motorhead

Don't want to burst the mythology of this song for its fans, or dispell the idea that motorhead are geniuses, but don't you think we should respect the reality of who wrote this song?

Obviously this business about GF is a joke, however, it gets me thinking how much fun it would be if Half Man Half Biscuit were to do a cover version. Covers

Seems like lots of cover versions have now gone, after "greatly trimming, per WP:SONGCOVER," by Binksternet in Sept 2015. His edit summary said: "Singles are notable but B-sides, bonus tracks, album tracks and most TV and live performances are not" But we are now left with a sum total of one, for a band without any Wikipedia article, and supported only a claim from the band's own website. What happend to balance? The previous entries seem to be still available under the additional information at this rockabilly cover by Canadian band Coal, like a little 2001 Wikipedia time capsule. Hayseed Dixie have also done a bluegrass version, of course, but that was only on national live UK TV and with 1,699,661 views on YT. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:40, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
