Queen's Day

edit

Koninginnedag is celebrated in the Netherlands on 30 April but will from 2014 be celebrated as the anniversary of the accession of King William after Queen Beatrix's abdication.

N.B. Daniel Prayer-Book does not provide any information to support the "300 years" of observing the accession of Queen Elizabeth of England. Perhaps "citation needed" is required here for clarity. He does not give any details about the Hanoverians but what he says implies that the Book of Common Prayer would include a revised version of the accession service in each new reign.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 08:34, 30 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Canada

The Honourable David C. Onley speaks at the Monarchist League of Canada's Accession Day Lunch

This has not been added to the article because Canada is only mentioned obliquely (a Commonwealth realm). More information about the Accession Day usage in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the other 13 realms could be included.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 17:24, 30 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
