Forgot - removed "Stub class" designation. Gardener of Geda | Message Me.... 02:31, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
check the options - if no longer a stub - it becomes a Start-Class. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:04, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merge from Glasshouse (novel)

edit

Please merge any relevant content from Glasshouse (novel) per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Glasshouse (novel). (If there is nothing to merge, just leave it as a redirect.) Thanks. Quarl (talk) 2007-02-14 01:48Z

? ....... From the Accelerando article : "A sequel novel entitled Glasshouse, loosely set in the same universe, was published in June 2006." It will be published in the UK next month - I have it on order; haven't read it yet. "Merge"?! I feel that the new book should have its own article, if it's very different in nature to the first. If no-one writes an article soon, I will! .... Gardener of Geda | Message Me.... 02:04, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hi Gardener, if you are interested in writing a full article about that book, go ahead and unredirect it. It won't violate this AFD since the result was based on the lack of content and context (but you still have to worry about notability). However, I recommend you wait until the book is released (next month, as you say), so that there's a lot more to say about it and it's verifiable. Quarl (talk) 2007-02-14 05:16Z
Yes - I wouldn't write about it till it's been released in the UK, and until I've read it. Hope Amazon don't forget to post it. I'm sure the novel will be different enough from Accelerando to be "notable". I wasn't aware of the AfD; I never would have thought the new book would have merited one. Gardener of Geda | Message Me.... 17:08, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
In replying to a comment I made on his blog, Stross informed me that the events in Glasshouse are not to be thought of as transpiring in the same universe as Accelerando. Glasshouse is a stand-alone work. I've removed the line indicating that Glasshouse is a sequel to Accelerando.

Glasshouse just arrived.

edit

Amazon finally sent me the paperback copy I've had on order for a while; just got it this morning. When I can find time to read it, I'll start an article, if one hasn't been made by then. Gardener of Geda | Message Me.... 12:07, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Spoilers in the Characters section?

edit

It looks like there are some spoilers in the Characters section... would it be appropriate to move the "spoiler" tag above this section? I'll probably go ahead and make this change in a day or two if no one objects. OtterZero 12:28, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

No. There shouldn't be spoiler tags on wikipedia check wp:spoiler. There is a general disclaimer on each page as well.Wikipedia:No_disclaimers_in_articles AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 12:23, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Story titles

edit

Why does this page say that one of the stories is titled "The Rapture of the Nerds"? 68.44.13.236 22:34, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rapture of the Nerds is a new book authored by Charles Stross and Cory Doctorow, released this year, 2014. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cognater (talkcontribs) 22:25, 2 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

concrete

edit

This article says the book alludes to "Rubberized concrete". However, those words currently link to an article about hardening ordinary concrete with an accelerated process involving supercritical carbon dioxide. So does the book really allude to that accelerated concrete hardening process (and so we should change the words in the article)? Or does the book allude to "rubberized concrete" or perhaps allude to "rubberized asphalt concrete" (rubberized asphalt -- asphalt concrete), (and so we should change the link in the article) ? --68.0.120.35 15:22, 18 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Accelerando(1stEd).jpg

edit

Image:Accelerando(1stEd).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
