  • You write: "no refs in the lede", can you please cite the Wikipedia reference that forbids references in the lede. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 18:22, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • You write that "Find a Grave is not citable, to be included only as external link, see WP:EL". Can you please cite the part of WP:EL that refers to Findagrave, just pointing me to a multipage guide is not very helpful. I am assuming that if a reference is good enough for an external link, it is good enough for an internal reference. I am not seeing any contradiction to that in WP:EL. I have also noticed you have used a "Yates County Cemetery" page that performs the same function as Findagrave. You are using it as an internal reference, can you explain how your reference is acceptable and my reference is not acceptable. Thank you. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 18:22, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Sorry Richard, I'll be more specific:
  • See Wikipedia:ELPEREN#Find-a-Grave for Find a Grave. By the way a discussion is going on at Wikipedia:ELN#findagrave which might interest you.
  • See Wikipedia:LEDE#Citations for refs in the lede; it says something like, if the info is repeated in the body of the article, then do not add a citation to the lede, just to avoid unnecessary repetion. (Citation should be appended to the lede if "strong" claims are made in the lede, especially in BLPs, and in case something is in the lede which is not repeated in the article (probably an extremely rare occasion.) Come on Richard, we really don't need a repeated citation for the lifespan. Kraxler (talk) 19:02, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • About my "cemetery records" link, used as a reference: Well, I used it as a reference because I believed it to be reliable (it doesn't matter now why I arrived at that conclusion, a different editor might have a different opinion). If you challenge the reference, then you can move it to the External links section, I think it still passes Wikipedia:EL#Links to be considered # 4. Kraxler (talk) 19:14, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
