Help!!! I trying to do a story on a child on in the industrial revolution can you give my some girl names in or before the IR please I got all of the research done I just need a name for my carecter and it a girl so no boy names please. Substantial revision

This article, as I found it, contained signficant errors. I hope that I have removed these without being guity of vandalism. I disagree with the views expresed by Hyde (whose work I have included in 'further reading') on then reasons for the slow adoption of coke pig iron by forges. That work is still unpublished and thus cannot be referred to here, but it does not affect this article. Conversely, I am convinced that Hyde's case regarding the choice of fuel in the blast furnace is substantially correct. Peterkingiron 21:27, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

I return to this article to find that some one has preferred derivative work by Rolt, an eminent industrial historian, but not an expert on the iron industry to that of Raistrick, who studied the original archives. This is very disappointing. So far I have only added, a couple of tags to express doubt. I hope to revise the article substantially. The work on the forge, 'The choice of fuel in the eighteenth-century iron industry: the Coalbrookdale accounts reconsidered' is now available as an early on-line article for Economic History Review (subscription required). I have now dealt with my criticisms (above), by undertaking a major rewrite. I have sought to ensure that the most important modern works on Coalbrookdale are cited. In doing so, I have alargely eliminated citations of Rolt, some of whose work would (if included in WP) be regarded as WP:OR. Does anyone have reference for the birthplace at 'Woodsettle'? Most references say he was born near Wrens Nest Hill, Woodsetton.195.194.15.1 (talk) 13:34, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

cauldron

I have removed the addition of Blake's picture of a cauldron over a fire as irrelevant. The Coalbrookdale Company may well have been making the kind of fireplace illustrated in the late 18th century, but probably not in the time of Abraham Darby I. The one surviving example of a pot from his time is a tripod sitting on three legs. The production of grates and fireplaces does not feature (at least not much) in the accounts of the Coalbrookdale Company 1718-38, which I have been through, though mainly looking for other content than the sales records. What I have removed is accordingly a case of WP:OR.

I have also corrected his birthplace. He would probably have been born at home. His father lived at Wrens Nest House, which was part of Dudley Old Park, in Sedgeley. I am not sure if this was technically part of the township of Woodsetton. His birthplace was certainly not "Woodsette", whose insertion must be a case of vandalism.
